On the afternoon of 31 May, the signing ceremony for jointly establishing Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals by Longping High-tech, Hunan Agricultural University, and Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center was held at the Academic Report Hall of Hunan Agricultural University. Relevant leaders attended the signing ceremony, including academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Yuan Longping and Guan Chunyun, vice director-general of Hunan Province Agricultural Commission Huang Qiping, vice supervisor of Department of Commerce of Hunan Province Mao Qixing, party member of the Education Department of Hunan Province Xu Wei, executive vice chairman of Longping High-tech Wu Yueshi, vice president of Longping High-tech Zhou Dan, secretary of the party committee of Hunan Agricultural University Zhou Qingming, president of Hunan Agricultural University Fu Shaohui, and director of Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center Qi Shaowu. Vice president of Hunan Agricultural University Duan Meijuan presided over the ceremony.
At the signing ceremony, president of Hunan Agricultural University Fu Shaohui and executive vice chairman of Longping High-tech Wu Yueshi, on behalf of each party, signed the University and Enterprise Strategic Cooperation Agreement. Then, Wu Yueshi, Fu Shaohui and Qi Shaowu, on behalf of three parties, signed the Agreement of Jointly Establishing Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals, and unveiled the plague of Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals along with academician Yuan Longping and academician Guan Chunyun.
The establishment of Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals aims to give play to the advantages of sponsors and brand effects of "Yuan Longping", enhance international high-end agriculture talent cultivation, promote industry-university-research cooperation, offer services to national economic construction and the building of the "Belt and Road", achieve win-win cooperation among three parties, and contribute to China's efforts to promote advancement and popularization of agriculture technology, develop modern agriculture, and safeguard global food security.
Vice director-general of Hunan Province Agricultural Commission Huang Qiping, vice supervisor of Department of Commerce of Hunan Province Mao Qixing, party member of the Education Department of Hunan Province Xu Wei and other leaders offered their congratulations to the establishment of the cultivation center, and said that they would actively support the construction and development of the cultivation center with high quality, high standard, and high efficiency.
In his speech, Wu Yueshi said, Longping High-tech pays high attention to the building of the talent team, especially the cultivation of international talents, and established Longping University at the beginning of the year. This time, Longping High-tech established Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals, together with Hunan Agricultural University and Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center, with the aim to cultivate leading talents for domestic agriculture enterprises to "go global", and help Chinese agriculture technologies and products to enter into the world market. He added, in the future, the construction and operation of the cultivation center will be an important task of Longping University.
Secretary of the party committee of Hunan Agricultural University Zhou Qingming said, as a sponsor, Hunan Agricultural University will provide guarantee in organization, expense and system, work together with other two sponsors to build Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals into an international high-end agriculture talent cultivation base, a template of postgraduate education internationalization, an important carrier of agriculture technology international communication, and an important platform of agriculture technology popularization and application. Director of Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center Qi Shaowu said that Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals gathered strength of three parties. It is bound to be a world-class agriculture talents cultivation platform.
From April to May this year, under the organization of leaders such as Zhou Dan from Longping High-tech, personnel of General Affairs Office of Longping University, backbone staff of International Training Center of Longping University and relevant leaders of Hunan Agricultural University had discussions regarding the cultivation of international agriculture talents for several times. They pushed forward the preparation for building Yuan Longping Talents Training Center for Worldwide Top Agricultural Professionals, and eventually, this signing ceremony was held successfully.
After the signing ceremony, International Training Institute of Longping High-tech held the Opening Ceremony of the 2017 Training Course on Vegetables Planting and Processing Technology for Developing Countries. 86 students from 21 countries such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Kenya, and Ethiopia participate in the vegetable technology training for a term of two months.
